Things that were awesome this week

This week Greg is away for work. He will be gone for 13 sleeps. Things are going as smoothly as can be expected without the assistance of my husbando, but I will be happy when he is back to look after his girls!

These are the things that I am grateful for this week:
  • Skype, so I can see Greg's handsome face while he is thousands of kilometres away.
  • Modern medicine. Struck down by a serious case of tonsillitis I found myself in the ER this week. Tonsills swollen to capacity, me unable to swallow without feeling like I was choking. Two hours on a antibiotic drip, some steroids and a painkiller jab and I am no longer worried about choking to death. Also so grateful for the medical system that enabled me to get such great help when I needed it. I am also thankful for the 2 hour sleep I got while I was there. Needed that!
  • Childcare. I have NO idea what I would have done if childcare was not available during my trip to the ER. I definitely wouldn't have got that 2 hour nap in!
  • Nail polish. There is something about wearing nailpolish that has always made me feel amazing.
  • I just asked Evie what she liked this week and she said 'nummies' (dummies). I am grateful for them too. It took 5 months of holding it in your mouth, but I only did it because I knew you would love it in the end :).
  • Gingerbread. We made some gingerbread men (and a mess- see below). There is nothing like a waft of cinnamon to let you know it's Christmas. This was so much more true during my US Christmas's. They certainly know how to throw a Christmas over there! I definitely hope to have some more ski resort Christmas's during my lifetime.
  • My family. They are all away this week. It makes me so thankful that they are usually so close by. Except one lovely sister who lives in London so that we can have lovely overseas holidays :).
  • That Evie is now comfortable to hang with Grandma and Pa (Greg's parents) without us. She loves going to their house now which is a great relief as it has taken her a long time to get to know people. I can see everyones happiness about this.
  • Frosty fruits. I have had 8 so far in the last two days.
  • The giant piece of paper that is currently occupying Evie.
